Organization settings

Where to find them

In the sidebar, under Organization, open Settings. The page is titled “Organization settings” and has two tabs: “General”, which everyone in the organization can read, and “Danger zone”, which only the owner sees at all.

Everything on General is editable by the owner only. Admins and members see the same fields, greyed out, with “Only the organization owner can change these.” in place of the Save button.

Organization profile

The first card, “Organization profile”, holds the organization’s name, its URL slug and its avatar. The slug is what appears in your in-app links, and the field shows a live preview of the resulting address as you type; it needs at least three characters and is normalised to lowercase letters, digits and hyphens automatically.

The avatar accepts PNG, JPG and WebP up to 2 MB — click the tile or drop an image onto it. SVG is refused. “Delete avatar” appears once an image is stored, and removing it falls back to the organization’s initials.

Timer concurrency

The second card sets whether people may run several timers at once. “Allow concurrent timers” lets each member run up to three timers, counted across every organization they belong to. “Exclusive — one timer at a time” means starting a timer here requires stopping any other running timer, on any device and in any organization; the prompt never reveals what that other timer was.

This is the organization-wide default. Each workspace can override it in its own settings, which is why the same setting reads slightly differently there. Tightening it can also wait: if members are mid-work, the switch is stored as pending, the old rule stays in force, and it applies by itself once everyone is down to one timer.

Danger zone

“Transfer ownership” hands the organization to another active member and demotes you to admin at the same moment. Only the new owner can hand it back, and the transfer is refused if that person already owns an organization of their own.

“Close organization” makes the organization and everything in it inaccessible to every member. It asks you to type DELETE to confirm, and you cannot undo it yourself.

What is not an organization setting

There is no organization-level time zone, currency or week-start setting. Time zone is a personal choice on your own “Account settings” page, and an organization can set a per-organization time zone for a member from the Team page — but never one for the whole organization.

Overlap policy and time-entry classification are not here either: they belong to individual workspaces and are edited in the “Edit workspace” dialog on the Workspaces page.
