Start a timer from Bitrix24 tasks
Which pages are recognised
Open a task in Bitrix24 and the Keepr extension shows an “On this page” card above the timer. Both a task from your own task list and one from a workgroup's are recognised, on Bitrix24 cloud and on an on-premise portal at your company's own address, over HTTPS.
Keepr recognises Bitrix24 by the shape of a task's address, …/tasks/task/view/1287/, so it needs no setup for your portal. Task lists, Kanban, the calendar, chats and other pages are not recognised.
What the card fills in
Press “Use” on the card. The timer description becomes the task's number and title, for example “#1287 Prepare the quarterly report”, so your entries read the same as the task.
Bitrix24's tab title does not carry the task's title, so Keepr reads the heading on the page with one short script in that tab. A task opened in a slider over the list cannot be read that way, since the page behind it still shows the list's heading: the description is then the number alone. Open the task on its own page, or type the title.
If a Keepr task for that Bitrix24 task already exists, the card says so and Use fills its project and task too. Otherwise the card names the project the new task would go into, and you can change it before pressing “Start timer”.
How the task is matched or created
Keepr stores the task's number on the Keepr task together with its address on your portal, in the same form the Bitrix24 integration stores, whichever person's or workgroup's page you opened it from. A task the integration has already brought in is therefore found, and the timer starts on it. To link a task by hand, enter the bare number, 1287, as its External ID.
With no matching task, Keepr picks the project that already holds most tasks from the same portal, then the one you last started a task from that workgroup, or that portal, in from this browser. Bitrix24's addresses name no project, so none is matched by name.
The task itself is created only when you press “Start timer”, named after the Bitrix24 task, so opening the card and walking away leaves nothing behind. Starting on the same task next week reuses it.
What you need
The extension connects with a personal API token, which is part of the Ultimate plan. Give it the timers and projects scopes; creating a task from a page also needs the projects write scope and the right to manage the chosen project. Without either, the timer still starts, on the description alone.
In the pinned side panel, Keepr follows the task you have open once you let it read tab addresses. If you prefer not to, allow just your portal when the panel offers it, or add its address under Options.
